Care to Translate Partners with HAVEN Free Clinic

This collaboration will integrate Care to Translate’s app into the clinic’s operations, aiming to improve communication with non-English-speaking patients and enhance the quality of healthcare services provided.

HAVEN Free Clinic is dedicated to improving the health of uninsured individuals in the local community and it offers a comprehensive range of services, including medical care and wellness education, all provided by Yale University health professional students under the supervision of licensed clinicians. With the integration of Care to Translate’s translation app, HAVEN Free Clinic will be better equipped to serve its diverse patient population. The app will complement the clinic’s existing interpreting team, providing robust translation services in various appointment settings and enabling better preparation for patient interactions.

Olivia Ang-Olson, Executive Director of HAVEN Free Clinic, shared her thoughts on the new partnership: “Language barriers are a huge divider in access to health care, and we serve a significant population that is non-English-speaking. We have a robust in-person interpreting team that works to translate services, and we're really excited to use Care to Translate to supplement those translations in more nontraditional appointments."
