Care to Translate enhances communication in Carpenter’s Shelter Clinic

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Carpenter’s Shelter, a homeless shelter in Virginia, United States. This collaboration will see the implementation of Care to Translate’s app in the free clinic within the shelter, aiming to improve communication between patients and staff when language barriers are present. Carpenter’s Clinic will implement Care to Translate’s translation app to better serve its diverse patient population. 

Founded on the principles of respect, dignity, and community engagement, Carpenter’s Shelter is committed to helping the homeless achieve sustainable independence through shelter, guidance, education, and advocacy. The organization listens to the needs of the community and promotes social innovation to create a supportive environment where individuals can rebuild their lives.

Carpenter’s Clinic will start using Care to Translate’s translation app to better serve its diverse patient population. Jamie Ergas, Deputy Director of Carpenter’s Shelter, shared her thoughts on the new partnership:
