Press release

Tranemo Municipality has taken a decisive step to ensure that all residents have the right to clear and effective communication, regardless of their language background. In 2025, the entire municipality's operations will implement Care to Translate – a digital translation solution that enables fast and secure real-time communication in multiple languages.

Everyone has the right to be understood

Being able to communicate is a fundamental right. Language should never be a barrier to understanding important information, asking for help, or expressing one's needs. Tranemo Municipality interacts daily with residents and users from diverse linguistic backgrounds and recognizes the importance of providing language support across all areas of municipal services. Following a successful pilot project within elderly care, where the demand proved to be greater than expected, the decision was made to implement Care to Translate across the entire municipality.

“We have seen that language barriers can be a major obstacle to accessibility in municipal services. By introducing Care to Translate, we ensure that no one in Tranemo should feel invisible or misunderstood.” says Tord from Tranemo Municipality.

“This is a crucial step towards a more inclusive municipality.”

The new solution will be available across all municipal services, from the reception desk at the town hall to libraries, social services, the labor market unit, authority functions, HR, and education.

This means that:

  • A visitor at the reception can easily get answers to their questions in their native language.
  • A parent at the library can receive help finding the right information and services.
  • An elderly person receiving home care can feel safer knowing that the staff understands their needs and that they can understand the staff.

Maja Magnusson, CEO of Care to Translate, comments: “We are proud to be part of Tranemo Municipality’s initiative for linguistic inclusion. Being able to understand and be understood is crucial for a safe and functional society.”

”Our solution has already proven to make a significant difference in healthcare, and we are excited to now contribute to more accessible public services in Tranemo.”

Tranemo Municipality is now leading the way in ensuring that language does not become a barrier in the interaction between residents and municipal services. The implementation of Care to Translate marks a major step towards a more inclusive and accessible future for everyone.
