Language barriers should never stand in the way of receiving or providing essential services. In Borås, multiple departments – including elderly care, psychiatric housing, preventive services, and social care – encounter residents with diverse linguistic backgrounds daily. To better support both staff and citizens, Borås Stad has chosen to integrate Care to Translate into its operations, ensuring swift and reliable multilingual communication in real time.

Andreas Plotzki, ICT coordinator at Borås Stad, comments:

"We quickly saw the benefits of Care to Translate in our initial tests."

"Effective communication is key to providing high-quality services, and this tool helps us bridge language gaps in a way that is both user-friendly and efficient. We are excited to see how it will continue to improve interactions across our departments."

With Care to Translate, Borås Stad’s services can now offer:

  • Enhanced accessibility for individuals who do not speak Swedish fluently.
  • Increased confidence for both staff and residents in understanding and being understood.
  • A practical and scalable solution that supports communication across multiple sectors.

Maja Magnusson, CEO of Care to Translate, adds: "We are thrilled to welcome Borås Stad as a partner in making public services more accessible. Language barriers should never be an obstacle in receiving care or assistance, and it is inspiring to see a municipality take such an active role in addressing this challenge."

"We look forward to supporting Borås Stad in this important work."

By introducing Care to Translate, Borås Stad takes a significant step toward creating a more inclusive and accessible city for all. This initiative reinforces the municipality’s commitment to ensuring that language is never a barrier to essential services.
